Cisco Spark Hybrid - Call Connector Setup Part 1


The following text and screenshots coincide with the Deploying Cisco Spark Hybrid Services guide, and specifically with the Call Service Prerequisites. Additional articles will cover the Call Service Aware Deployment Steps and the Call Service Connect Deployment Steps.

On Cisco Unified CM

Set the mail ID of the user or import it from the LDAP directory. The User Mail ID can be found in UCM Administration > User Management > End Users > User. In the image, the Mail ID is being synchronised via Active Directory LDAP import.

 

On Cisco Unified CM, associate a directory URI to the user’s directory number. To associate a directory URI to a user’s directory number.

  1. In UCM Administration, choose Device > Phone.
  2. Find the device for which you want to associate.
  3. Click on the existing Directory Number
  4. In the Directory URI section, enter the URI and select a partition
  5. Click Save

The Directory URI in this article is synchronised from LDAP using the mail attribute, as can be seen in the screenshot above. More information on URI dialling here - Configure URI Dialing

Set the telephone number attribute and associate it with the user’s primary directory number. The Users Telephone number attribute can be found in UCM Administration > User Management > End Users > User. See previous images to observe the setting, it is being synchronised via Active Directory LDAP import. On the end users profile select the Primary Extension, as shown below.

Configure the Enterprise Parameter “Cluster Fully Qualified Domain Name”. From the UCM Administration page, click System > Enterprise Parameters. Set the Cluster Fully Qualified Domain Name.  

Associate users with devices. Devices can be associated by either navigating to the End Users profile and clicking Device Association under the Device Information section and selecting the device. Or open the Phone device and select the end user in the Owner User ID drop-down.

Set the home cluster on the user configuration page. Set the Home Cluster from UCM Administration > User Management > End Users > User.
